Recommendations for Family Holidays to Greece?

admin on May-31-2010

Hi,
i have a 16 year old daughter and 13 and 9 year old sons
whenever we go away our daughter always wants to be near other teenagers and our sons just want to be near the sea/pool
my husband and i love the cycladic architecture and we know that this is going to be found in the cyclades obviously.
Is there an island that is relatively relaxed, beautiful but with say a large hotel ?
thanks

I think you will enjoy aa holiday on Paros and/or Naxos. They are close by and easy to combine.
PAros has two main towns, Paroikia(the port), more clubs, bars etc., but also Naoussa, more picturesque, but has many hotels and teenagers. Great beaches too.
NAxos, if you stay at Plaka, has many restaurants, little bars, cafes etc., with teenagers, and small hotels with pools, and the sea is nearby. Naxos has the best beaches! And it is very interesting because it also has a lot of cultural heritage you can visit, horse riding to do, and more.
I think you will enjoy these islands!

  1. katie ;) Said,

    agios gordios :)
just went there this summer im 14 and my sister was 17 when we went. its really small so you will fell you can let your children go around alone a bit. the beach is great. so are the resaurants and bars and there are plenty of places to sta. not that far from the airport either and they have buses to corfu town regularly.
they have a few gift shops and supermarkets. supermarkets only have basics though but this wasn’t a problem because we ate out every night. but you can always go to a shop in corfu town.
i love it there because it is so relaxed :)

  2. Farnic Said,

Try Cyprus. Far better than Cyclades.

All cyclad hotels have large hotels, some of them charge less than $700 a night, so you are in. Make your choice.

For Mediterranean scenery similar to that in Greece, check Egypt, Malta, Italy and Montenegro.

For safety reasons, stay away from Athens.
