VIA GREECE, ARE WE WITNESSING THE DOWNFALL OF SOCIALISM IN EUROPE?

admin on Jun-30-2010

I feel that Greece is a prime example of why socialism doesn’t work. What eventually happens is that you have more people riding in the cart than pulling it, figuratively speaking. This pretty much has happened in Greece. Europe, California to follow? What about the USA? Please don’t blame the fat cats. They are, in the total picture, small change. My background – a truck driver from Cleveland.

I think you are on the right track.

I hope you are right, that socialism is ending. But the world is a mess. The socialist leaning European countries are getting poorer and poorer and admitting more and more immigrants from Islamic countries. They will all be vying for dwindling resources and jobs.
When push comes to shove it will get ugly.

And we are going down that same slippery slope.

But you’re not driving the truck toward the cliff. You can’t say as much for the fat cats. And we’re all on board their truck, and they’re not socialists.

Yes. Greece is only the beginning. After Greece goes, the rest of them will topple like dominoes after the Euro collapses.

No. You’re seeing angry people protesting about their bad economy. That’s what Americans should have done when the market plunged and so many lost most of their investments and 401K’s. But Americans are too "programmed" not to behave that way.

Maybe if we’d get off our fat a$$’s and went to the street our government would take us seriously, esprecially when Bush was President and our country was going to hell.

Pfff, what we have (or will have) in America is hardly socialism. As a conservative, you are closer to nazism than our economy is (or will be) to socialism. The economic downfall of Greece is more of an example of Darwin’s natural selection in the economic world. The strong will outlast the week. I believe we know who fits each role in this case.

Do you believe in statistical analysis, Jimbo, or anecdotal data?

If I could prove to you that I had been fortunate enough to win $400,000 in a lottery, would that be evidence enough for you that the lottery is the solution to all fiscal problems? I certainly hope not!

Greece is ONE single country run on socialist principles in a "community" of 27 nation states; to view Greece’s troubles as "WITNESSING THE DOWNFALL OF SOCIALISM IN EUROPE" is roughly equivalent to looking at Mark Sanford’s behavior and confidently concluding that all US State Governors must be "hiking the Appalachian Trail"!

You are not usually such a silly goose!
