Where can I get information about the wildlife in Athens,Greece?

admin on Mar-29-2011

I’m doing a report for school and one of the topics in it is the wildlife in Athens. I cant seem to find much. Please answer with some facts/info or some links. Thanks.

Athens is a large city and as such it had the same kind of wildlife any city in the world has.

For Greece, that is another story.

  1. Matt Irwin Said,

Type wildlife In Athens Greece into google…then press enter

  2. Least Favourite Martian Said,

    Google 2 words. 1. Kolonaki. 2. Frappe.
    References :
Kimon of Kitium. Stupendous response; I am on the floor! "Kanguras!!" Truly "fuggin" (with due ‘credit’ to the Rat) brilliant. P.S. You are beginning to win the Martian over. Q: ‘Straight’ or ‘ginger?’ BTW. Not "demeanor" – demeanour. Not "behavior" – behaviour. English, not Spanglish!!!

  4. Kimon Said,

Wild life in Athens here I’m your man!(Oh Boy I will enjoy this)

Athens has a unique ecosystem, which has allow the development of some remarkable flora and fauna. Very you (yours truly included) ever dared the Attican jungle to bring study these species.

So here is a non exhaustive list (new species are discovered as we speak)

    Homo Palaioprotevousianous
Very very rare. Usually encountered in the centre axis of the city. It is full of spite and contempt of all living creatures. Most are quite elderly, since their young have been assimilated into the rest of the fauna

    Homo Protevousianous
The evolution of the previous species, with addition of emigration of the surrounding area. Has a superior idea about itself, its territory, and its habit. The attraction to the Athenian valley is particularly strong in the female of the species who resist all effort to move anywhere else.

    Homo Horiatikous
Newer additions in the ecosystem, try to assimilate with the Homo Protevousianous but they cannot and it shows

These are the tree main species, but incredibly enough there are some variations. Lets take a look

    Koukoues
A funny little creature. Most are very intelligent when they start up, but once they fully develop they cannot perform any mental function any more. Instead, they receive all necessary instructions to do even the simplest things from their Hive which is located in the Perissos area. There is their Queen-mother a combination of Stalin and Goblin.

    Anarxous Anarxous
Usually offspring of the most affluent of Homo Palaioprotevousianous and Protevousianous, having no purpose in live, since daddy has everything covered; they have decided to change the world. Very similar to Koukoues in demeanor and behavior only they hate each other like hell and their Queen-mother is in Korydallos area

    Kanguras:
Encountered everywhere West of the river, most in the North and East suburbs. Extremely exhibitionist creature thrives parasitically on its parents. Usually encountered in medium to large groups admiring each other. Very limited vocabulary, and intellectual ability.

    Homo Hooliganis
They come in several colors: Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Blue-purple, no one can stand the presence of the other. Very limited vocabulary, minimal intelligence, no life.

Ok that’s enough for today, I’ll come back with the rest some other day… and I have flora to cover too….
