Are any memoirs written by Germans soldiers who fought in Greece?

Kiriakopoulos, G.C.,
Ten days to destiny, The battle for Crete, ed. Franklin Watts, New York 1985. ISBN 0-531-09785-4.

You can also have a look here "http://www.helleniccentre.org/library.htm", you’ll find a lot of books.

Hope that helps :)

  3. fred hall Said,

There is a film called ‘Well met by Moonlight’ based on a true event when a top German Officer was captured on a Greek Island and made the prisoner of some SAS Commandos. It was based on a book of the event. I think Marius Goring played the German Officer and Dirk Bogart the British Officer.
No Americans were involved so it probably is not known to the Americans.
It is a good story and made a good film.

I also recommend reading this web site "The Destruction of the Jews of Greece" and how these Jews were sent to the camps by trains, it is rumored they actually paid for the tickets to their death.
