History of Greece How much was the truth in the fall of Troy and how did Homer add to the story?

We know from other writers of the time that Troy did exist. The actual cause of the war was the desire of the Greeks to control Troy’s territory. the characters also existed but what is a bit uncertain is the wooden horse part. It is not sure if this actually existed or whether Homer ws speaking metaphorically meaning somthing else.

    I’m not sure anyone can answer this question. It was just recently proved that Troy actually existed.

    We have no proof if the city in Europe that we uncovered is actually Troy. It has seven layers to it and does show a very violent past. Honestly we know that Homer made up a lot of the fantasy aspects of the story but can’t prove if Troy existed.
