foreign couple moving and marrying in greece?

admin on Jul-31-2010

Hi,

i would like to know what should we do about moving and getting married in greece. I am an asian and my fiance is a dutch. we both plan to marry in greece and live there as well. What papers/documents should we submit. Thanks

If you don’t have Dutch citizenship and have an Non EU passport you have to have a visa to go to Greece. Having read your previous question about you in the Netherlands not having papers to live there. Your Dutch partner can live and work in Greece.

  2. Sela Said,

The best way to find out is to check the website of the embassy of your country in Greece.
    Dutch embassy: http://www.dutchembassy.gr/
    "Trouwen in Griekenland"http://www.mfa.nl/ath/consulaire_zaken/informatie_voor/trouwen_in

Documents you need to marry/stay in Greece:

    A passport
A certified copy of your birth certificate, along with an official translation, or an international birth certificate.
    Document with your martial status
If applicable, documentary evidence (death certificate or final divorce decree) of the termination of a previous marriage (the most recent, if more than one), along with an official translation.

Maybe you need an Apostle stamp on your documents.
