I put this movie on for wallpaper when nothing else is on. I’ve got the region 1 version, the region 0(Chinese release), 2 Soundtrack LP’s(one still sealed in shrink wrap), the cassette version, two 45rpm 7" records of the song "Summer Lovers" by Michael Sembello, three sets of lobby cards(one set is from Spain and is different from the other two) I’ve got 2 Australian Daybills(posters), black & white and color publicity stills, the american movie poster in different sizes and other stuff related to the movie. I even went to extreme of assembling all the rest of the music from the film that’s not included in the LP, and had a professional recording studio record the music in chronological order for a complete Soundtrack so I can listen to the music and "see" the movie in my head.

This movie is my trip to (Santorini) Greece that I never had. The un-credited star of the movie is Greece itself. Breath-taking photography of Greek ruins and the Cyclades islands, and a fair amount of skin, make this a movie I just never tire of. This is a "little" movie and in spots painfully bad, yet I just can’t get enough of the characters brought to life by Peter Gallagher, Daryl Hannah, and poor dead Valerie Quennessen. This flick is 29 years old, so please reserve comment unless you’ve seen it.

I don’t feel this way about any other movie, and I’ve never collected paraphenalia related to a movie before.

So I’m asking the Y/A community: What is it about this flick that makes me watch it repeatedly(I’ve seen it hundreds of times)and collect every scrap of ephemera I can find? What are your thoughts?
