is it a good idea to holiday in Greece / Corfu at the moment in spite of the troubles?

What are you people on? What troubles?
Everything you see on TV happens in an area like four football courts in the centre of Athens.
Holydays anywere in Greece is a prime idea….
i would think because of all the troubles your money should be worth more in greece although they are in the euro zone so it wont be the same as if they were still using their own currency and if people stop going there on holiday their economy will be hit even harder so they really need it right now

I believe all the troubles are in Athens around the Parliament building, so that will not be a problem.
If you go on holiday to Greece or the Islands you will not have any trouble. You will have a brilliant holiday where the Greek people will do anything they can to make sure you enjoy every minute of you holiday. I was in Lefkada this year and am looking forward to going to Greece again next year.

I’ve been back 10 days from a fortnight’s holiday in Corfu , bar for the ferries not running a couple of days , and a few Trades Union protest banners , you could hardly tell there was a crisis .
Go , you’ll have a great time .
This is a thing between Greeks , their Government(s) , and the E U , tourists dont come into it .

I asked myself that same question in January when I went to Tunisia and there were riots in Tunis. I went there and 3 days later we were all told to leave our hotel and get the next flight home! 2 days after that the government was over thrown and there was a revolution. I got only £18 compensation from my tour company despite losing 5 days of my holiday!
My advice is stay away from Greece, save your money, you do not want to arrive settle into your hotel and get sent home a week early with a pittance of compensation.

I visited Tunisia in January and the same thing happened.
