i am moving to thassos island in greece next year and would like information with regards to law firm work?
i am currently learning the greek language and i am a qualified lawyer. i would like to work in a greek law firm and would like some information regarding this. i understand i may have to do more training once i am there and i dont mind working as a legal secretary or something at first as long as it is within a law firm or office of some sort to get myself started. i also know i might have to work in Kavala. can any give me any information with regards to this please? and if anyone english people are living in kavala? xx

What puzzles me is are you able to practice law if not qualified as a lawyer under Greek Law…
……..giving an example: My brother qualified as a Lawyer in Los Angels (USA) but when he came to live in London for a few years he was not able to practice as he was not qualified under British Law. It meant he would have to sit the British Bar Exam and then work under a British qualified lawyer for two years before taking on his own cases. I was told that this is the norm worldwide.
It was quite grim for him at the time especially as he had a number of years experience and practice in his profession – He was lucky to work in London as an in-house counselor for an American company.
My point is you would need to enquire if the same law applies in Greece in order for you to practice.
