i needed a nice quite Greek island for the summer so i was recommended with Sifnos
at first i had Evia at mind ( Limnos _ area )
this summer we don’t want crowds , we just want nice view , nice beach , good food
if you think that there is something better then Sifnos , Please id like some suggestions

Sifnos is an excellent choice.

As a matter of fact if you exclude the jet set islands (Mykonos, Sandorini, Corfu and Rodhes) and the party islands (Ios, Zante) everywhere else is relaxed and easy going.

I left Crete for last since being a very big place, you can have all in one.

I will need to get from my hotel in Evia to Zante (zakynthos).
I understand how first I will need to cross alot of mid main land and get to Patras, then catch a ferry.

My question is.. is there any buses that go from Evia to Patras? Which is the best route to take?
Should I even result to catching a cab?

I am a Greek woman. However my dad only received information on who his biological mom is ( he was adopted ). I looked through the papers and the only information on who his father is is that he is also Greek and from evia in santorini Greece. His mother has already passed before we could contact her for info. I’m going to Greece alone in spring, any help or ideas on how to find my grandpa? Anything helps. Please.. :/

I’ve never heard that the Island of Evia is in Santorini..!!

Evia the biggest Island in Greece, not that far from Athens.
Santorini is an Island in the Cyclades.
Evia and Santorini are 2 different islands.

Please clarify that.
If you know from which of these Islands is your biological grandfather you can proceed with the search.

Evia is really huge and has unnumerous small towns and villages.
Santorini is much smaller, as u might know.

For your search you need Family name and given name of your grandfather, birthday is useful.
You can start calling the local communities like Birth registers and hope that someone could help you. You should ask contact details from old ppl in the villages and ask about your grandfather.
The old ppl might know some more. If you know where from is your fathers mother, you could ask one of her brothers or sisters or neighbors if they do know something.

It will be impossible to find him by having just a name and not even be sure where he is from.

I will be in Greece for 3 months this year and will be looking to buy a used moped/50CC bike (specifically, in Evia)

How much should I expect to pay? I understand of course that it depends on the bike, but should I expect a used bike to cost E500 or E2000?

I bought one two years ago for 800 Euro in Heraklion and it works like magic.
I will be using it this summer as well.

I know there is a bridge where you can drive but I am looking for the ferry prices from mainland to Evia and back. Please don’t just send me a link without trying it out, I tried several but they don’t have Evia to Greece info, only island to island.
I’d really like to know the price if I take a car down, and if I have to reserve ahead.

Apart from the one mentioned by J-M there are also: Agia Marina to Nea Styra, Skala Opopou to Eretria. And from Arkitsa and Agios Konstantinos on the North, to Edipsos.

Different beauties really! Which time of the year will you be going there? Lefkada is more of a summer location due to it’s beautiful beaches. Evia is ideal for any time of the year but is also a great summer destination.

My opinion, if you’re up for a summer location and wanna do some swimming in crystal blue seas, then you will not regret going to Lefkada.
