Planing a trip to greece maybe during december, january, but i have heard that ferries dont run through this season and most restaurants are closed. Is this true? What is the weather like does it get too cold?

Ferries do run in the winter time but not with the same regularity as in the summer. However, one of the common problems they face is the high winds in the seas that are not uncommon and result in canceling of departures. That is usually a problem that rectifies itself within the next 24 hours.
Most of the most frequented islands have both hotels and restaurants that work during that time and surprisingly they have much better service than in the summer because they cater for local visitors, mostly commercial reps.

The best choice for an island visit is Crete that has daily sailings with boats that are not affected much by the winds and Chania or Heraklion are very much alive during winter too.

what are some of greek cultural customs? I know that they like folk music and music is almost the fundamental education for schoolkids and the olympic came from there but any others? Please describe them.

religion- i said that ancient greeks are polytheism and that they have a god in almost every aspect of their life. there are 14 main gods and goddess and they get praised at temples.
Can you please describe to me what the modern religion is like and how and when it started?

dress- like what they wear back then and now. please describe them to me and tell me what they are called.

gender roles- like are men and women equal to each other? I know back then the women are almost like everywhere; they are to take care of the family and had very limited rights. How are the gender role now? also what made that happen?

Different beauties really! Which time of the year will you be going there? Lefkada is more of a summer location due to it’s beautiful beaches. Evia is ideal for any time of the year but is also a great summer destination.

My opinion, if you’re up for a summer location and wanna do some swimming in crystal blue seas, then you will not regret going to Lefkada.

People that were not slaves did have a choice in what they wanted to do, but not to the extent we think of choice today. You’re career depended on your talents and how much money your family had. Women were likely to have no career other than motherhood. It also depended on where they lived. Spartans were required to become soldiers for a certain amount of time, Athenians were interested in philosophy, mathematics and the arts. If you were poor, you probably had to become a farmer or whatever career training was available to you. (i.e. a tradesman).
