I’m going on holiday to Greece, How should I take my spending money?

admin on Jun-30-2010

I’m going on holiday to Greece after the general Election. Should I take Euros? If so Should I get them now as the pound might crash if there is a hung Parliment? I wont be taking travellers cheques. or what’s the best Euro bank account you can get in the UK?

It’s probably not worth stocking up with Euros. They might get more expensive and they might get cheaper. If the market knew the answer, it would be there already. At the moment the pound is undervalued against the Euro, but it could well stay there.

Take your debit card and draw Euros out of an ATM when you get there. The first choice you get is language so there’s no problem trying to fathom out the Greek alphabet. If you bank with Nationwide, you just get a straight exchange rate with no fee. Other banks may charge up to 5%, but it’s still cheaper than the mark-up on travellers’ cheques or changing notes.

VIA GREECE, ARE WE WITNESSING THE DOWNFALL OF SOCIALISM IN EUROPE?

admin on Jun-30-2010

I feel that Greece is a prime example of why socialism doesn’t work. What eventually happens is that you have more people riding in the cart than pulling it, figuratively speaking. This pretty much has happened in Greece. Europe, California to follow? What about the USA? Please don’t blame the fat cats. They are, in the total picture, small change. My background – a truck driver from Cleveland.

I think you are on the right track.

I hope you are right, that socialism is ending. But the world is a mess. The socialist leaning European countries are getting poorer and poorer and admitting more and more immigrants from Islamic countries. They will all be vying for dwindling resources and jobs.
When push comes to shove it will get ugly.

And we are going down that same slippery slope.

IS IT TRUE THAT BROKE GREECE IS FORCED TO SELL SOME ISLANDS?

admin on Jun-30-2010

Which islands are they selling? Is this the Euro way of saying to the Greeks that THE PARTIES ARE OVER? AND TO STOP BEING SO MACHO? Other countries have done that in the past big real estate deals selling big tracts of land just to pay off their debts. what’s so special about greece it can’t sell off some properties? Is it time to really put their house in order otherwise someone else is going to do it for them? HOW WILL THIS AFFECT THEIR TOURISM INDUSTRY?

In my opinion this financial mess will have a chain reaction and it will Axe the Tourism Industry next.
I certainly would not want to visit Greece when the whole world are talking about an inevitable Bankruptcy.
Neighboring countries tourism will be booming…

The effect of salt water on relaxed hair?

admin on Jun-29-2010

I’ve relaxed my hair through Schwarzkopf Strait Therapy and I have a trip to Ios, Greece in about 10 days…

My hair is completely straight and when I wash it, it dries straight but I’m wondering if it’ll stay that way after exposure to salt water?

Will it still be straight? or will it curl?

I’ve read that it should be deep conditioned right after but we plan to spend all morning on the beach so I can only wash and condition it at night. Is that alright?

Any information about relaxed hair maintenance at a beach is much appreciated!

Thanks!

Yes, Your hair will not be affected. The ph of your water at home is 7.0 the ph of the salt water is 7.5.
Its barely a difference.
Hope this helped.
